David G. Gray
David Gray has served as the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina, Asheville/Bryson City Divisions since 1980. He also served as a Chapter 7 Trustee for a number of years. David was a member of the initial committee of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization charged with establishing bankruptcy specialization qualifications in North Carolina and has been a certified specialist in Consumer and Business Bankruptcy Law by the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization since 1987. He was also certified as a business bankruptcy specialist by the American Board of Certification in 1994. He has practiced bankruptcy law in Asheville since 1973, representing debtors in business and consumer cases, and concentrates his practice on Chapter 11 reorganizations. He has been a speaker at numerous local, state and national seminars and meetings involving bankruptcy and ethics and was named by North Carolina Business Week as one of the leading bankruptcy practitioners in North Carolina. David has served his profession as a counselor to the North Carolina State Bar (1980-1987), as President of the 28th Judicial District Bar (1990), and as Chair of the Bankruptcy Section, North Carolina Bar Association (1999-2000).
